Check out Bilal's Airtight Revenge

Coming off the heels of his debut "First Born Second" and one of the most classic underground "shelved" albums "Love For Sale", neo soul artist Bilal returns from a 9 year commercial hiatus with "Airtight's Revenge". Currently on L.A. based independent label Plug Research, Bilal is serving a more live and airy sound using heavy bass lines and guitar licks. "This album a lot of it came from writing the music on the piano and then developing a good melody and good lyrics and then creating a track around that." the 31 year-old said in an interview. "It’s even more of a mesh up of a lot of different sounds and genres." The album drops on September 14th and you can sample the track "Flying" below.

Willow Smith prepares to take the world by storm on RocNation imprint

“After meeting with several record companies, it was clear that JAY-Z, Ty Ty, Jay Brown and the Roc Nation staff was the unquestionable choice. Their passion for Willow combined with their boundless vision and artistic integrity made Roc Nation the perfect home for our little girl.”- Jada Pinkett-Smith "We at Roc Nation are excited to work with Willow. She has an energy and enthusiasm about her music that is truly infectious. It’s rare to find an artist with such innate talent and creativity at such a young age. Willow is about to embark on an incredible journey and we look forward to joining her as she grows in all aspects of her career.”- Jay-Z. So what you all think? I know it might be too early to tell but in such an uncertain and unstable music market, does Willow have what it takes to make a splash on the scene?

Ron Isley featuring Lauryn Hill "Close to You"

A beautiful remake of Burt Bacharach's "(They Long to Be) Close to You". This track is haunting. Nice to see hints of real music here and there. Any chance to get anything new from the reclusive Lauryn Hill is also a treat. Take a listen.

Brandy will be stunting as a ballroom queen this coming fall....but I got a prob!

Instead of punching her over-sized forehead to the studio booth to recoup her waning music career, Brandy will be swinging her 31 year-old hips on the dance floor for her 10s this fall on this season's dancing with the stars.
But I have a problem. I understand that a cunt needs to get her coins just like the next bitch. And I respect the fact that after the weak reception of her last studio effort "Human", she kept her grand hustle going with "A Family Business" and such. But a bitch desperately needs to regain her footing in the music industry. I believe that it should be her main focus. Doing things like "Dancing with The Stars" is somewhat turning her career into a gimmick. Considering that she would be traipsing with girls like Bristol Palin and The Situation is just upsetting. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Brandy. I believe that her "Never Say Never" was an R&B classic. Her lyrics and melodic artistry resonates to my soul. So it is understandably disheartening to see her engaging in such trivial projects. I so want to see a solid album and promotional treatment for such a talent as Brandy. If Monica can do it, Brandy definitely has just as much potential.

T.I. and Tiny gets arrested....for filth!

Cruising around with a car full of meth and ecstasy, that pug face cunt named Tiny and her jail-bait husband, T.I. got escorted to a local holding cell in L.A. last night. Around 10:18 pm, T.I. got pulled over in his Maybach on Sunset Blvd for a traffic violation. Because the cops "smelled marijuana" they began searching the car when they discovered the controlled substance. Both were booked for possession and will be sitting next to a huge bitch named Molly until they post bail, if they can.... C'mon ya'll, let's do better!

The Basic Bitch... Explored Part Two

A basic bitch is a jealous bitch....
because she isn't relevant, her life goal is to ruin yours to attain such

A basic bitch is a dusty ballroom queen
you can find her at the local mall or fag bar swinging her bad hips to a beat or boosting by stuffing her stupid big and empty bag with stretch pants from H&M and the like....

A basic bitch is a clueless bitch
because she never has anything meaningful to say, the bitch will just make up something...

Fantasia - Did the drama help or hurt her album sales?

Fantasia's "Back To Me" made a significant debut on the charts this week by entering #2 on the US album charts to sell 122k copies coming second to Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream". It also secured the number one spot on the R&B chart. However, this release also found Fantasia in the headlines for her affair with a married man, ensuing legal woes, and attempted suicide. This saw a surge in marketing by Fantasia's camp with appearances on talk shows, performances, and television specials. Although her team say that these were all scheduled beforehand, I do believe that Fantasia in some way benefited from her misery. Like the saying goes, any publicity is good publicity. From this unfortunate event, the public was made aware of an album release that would otherwise only be known in her core fan base. I personally would like to see Fantasia move on from this situation and forward in promotion for what I think is her best album yet. Her second single has been switched from "Man of the House" to "I'm Doing Me" which was a smart choice. Here's hoping for a tour. Season 2 of Fantasia For Real premieres on VH1 September 19th. (keeping fingers crossed that I will be featured in her promo stop in St. Louis!)

So we're back again.... for good?

I want to personally apologize to all the supporters of Hava-Seat for my lack of posts and presence. Working and schooling full time has definitely taken it's toll. But I do plan to be more present for this fall tenure. Thanks to all of those who still come by and support on and off the site. I will definitely make it my business to make it up to you! Kiss-kiss!

Aretha falls...

......She broke rib bones and my sternum when I heard the news. Shows in NY were canceled...

“I was very much looking forward to being in Brooklyn and having a foot-long hot dog at Coney Island,” she said in a statement. “Hopefully, I will get it before the end of August.” [ SOURCE: DETROIT NEWS ]

My guess: chasing after the bomb-pop truck....

The Basic Bitch... Explored

A basic bitch is a tired bitch that never has any business....
as a result she's always in yours....

A basic bitch is a wanna-be grand bitch
she traipses with a big stupid bag with nothing in it.

A basic bitch is an irrelevant dustball dirt queen

Prop 8 Overturned & Gay Marriage

Same-sex marriages unconstitutional? Well that's what the Supreme Court will now have to decide because California's Prop 8 ban has been overturned in California. What I don't really understand is why people get in such an uproar in regards to gays wanting to get married. Having been raised in the church, I've heard the "marriage is designed for a man and a woman" rant, but for real... why would Danny and Arnold's nuptials really bother you Rev. McClurkin? I can understand the need for Princess and Kris to want to get married due to financial issues, health care, etc. So I think if a person decides to say, "hey, let's spend the rest of our lives together and get married..." I don't have a problem with that. Isn't that the joy of living in America? To not be dictated to on how we should live our lives? Seperation of church and state anybody? So if Antoine wants to marry Leroy, let him. If for any reason, let it be so he can shut up!

So yeah.... hava-seat took a seat... FOR A WHOLE MONTH!

and I'm sorry... but the bitch is back!

Ciara Tryna make a comeback?

First of all, ain't this bitch a little bit too young to be working on a "comeback"? I mean really. Don't get me wrong, I admire Ciara for being a hot and articulate dancer as well as a stunning beauty. She really allowed us to remember and hold on to our babygirl, Aaliyah a little while longer. But beauty and dancing has not been able to make up for her lack of public appeal as of late. I feel bad because when "Fantasy Ride" was released, I was actually excited because I liked "Go Girl" and "High Price" (which I think should have been released as a single with video treatment). But for some reason, the public didn't catch on. Having gone from 3x platinum "Goodies" and platinum selling "Evolution", she definitely saw a decline with her last effort only selling 300,000 copies worldwide. Now she is back with a new project, "Basic Instinct" with her first single "Ride" slowly climbing the charts (peaking  #5 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and #50 o the Billboard Hot 100). Considering this sex siren's slow decline, do you think that Ciara will be able to recoup her career or has she been the latest victim of a failed R&B chick. "Basic Instinct" is set to release August 24th.....for now. (the read)

Listen to Ciara's second single, "Gimmie That" produced by The Dream & Tricky Stewart

And in case you missed it, here's her first single "Ride"

Lady Gaga as A Man!

Lady Gaga poses as what I first thought was a tribute to Michael Jackson circa "Billy Jean". Turns out it was apart of a spread to be featured in an upcoming issue of Japanese Vogue. She pulls of Italian trade rather well doesn't she?

Fannie's New Video "Bittersweet"

What ya'll think? My take: hasn't the lounge singer thing been done? I really like the song but they coulda made Fantasia more visually appealing: although that may be hard to do....

Preview Fantasia's "Back To Me"

Preview Fanny's 3rd album that has now been pushed back to release on August 10th. I do agree with Fantasia's observation from her show "Fantasia For Real", "Move On Me" does deserve single treatment! Overall, seems like a solid effort. Will you be buying?

Kelly: A Desperate Fag-Hag or Breakout Star of 2010

So I peeped Kelly's new video, "Commander" and I must say...... this bitch tried it. And I don't mean it in a good way. I'm not sure why everyone is jumping on this bandwagon and making their videos so stereotypically gay. I mean, the sub-par voguing? Seriously Kelly? So you think a couple of blinking lights and a latex swimsuit was really going to make the girls gag? UGH! Don't get me wrong, I am rooting for Michelle, Kelly, but a bitch becomes grand when they provide an element of unique artistry. See Lady Gaga. Hopefully Kelly will give me PERFORMANCE and maybe then the girls will check for her. Until then, this video gets a HAVA-SEAT!

A bitch is serving in her new promotional pix tho! Alright for Lion Queen realness!

Tell me what ya'll think!

Hava-Seat Video Blog Series: Let's Talk About It! Take 1

The Church & The Queen

Why Are You So Late?: Doing too much on social networking sites.

Hey Boo!: KCJ & B.O.B.s

No Destiny's Child Reunion?: Ms. Kelly Rowland Sets the Record Straight.

Kelly sits down with infamous blogger, Miss Perez Hilton to talk about her upcoming project and the truth behind the Destiny's Child reunion. Peep the video below.

Well there you have it. Looks like there is still some hope left for DC3 fans. But it is debatable whether it will be under a Matthew Knowles regime. If an issue, I can't really see Beyoncé willing to sidestep her father in order to pursue another Destiny's Child project. Her allegiance to him has been very evident through the years. What do you all think?

Tuesday's Read: Me and Miss Elijah!

Based on a true exchange with my Chicago good Judy! LOL!

Prince - 2010 BET Lifetime Achievement recipient.

With 7 Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe, the 52-year-old is being inducted as BET's 2010 Lifetime Achievement honoree at this year's BET awards. No word on who will be paying tribute to him this year. Any suggestions? This year's ceremony will be hosted by Queen Latifah on June 27th.

How late will you be thanking Drake?

Today is the day. The highly anticipated full album by rap/singing sensation Drake is releasing today. Will you be buying?

Christina is not herself tonight, she's a bulldagger! :-/

"My husband knows that I get into girls, " says the former dirty Christina Aguilera to Out magazine. "My husband and I check in with each other, but I definitely love women. I think they're more attractive to the naked eye." I guess Chris forgot that NOBODY CARES. This was evident when both her and Britney Spears lip locked with Madonna and forgot that she was even there. Poor Christina, with her album set to go aluminum, I suppose she'll reach at anything to get attention. A little ironic though, how she keeps parading around saying she's not Lady Gaga yet her latest effort seems to be influenced by the reinvention of the dance craze created by Gaga dominance and now they share an affinity for cooch. HAVA-SEAT Christina! How about you go work on being original and think about how you first came to be on the charts in the first place. It has to be tiring to be trying to live in the shadow of Britney and now Gaga. Baby, nobody ain't checking for you shapeshiftin azz. I still have hope for you because I think you are talented, but girl..... I think you were were on to something during you "Stripped" days.... At least somebody gave a damn then (even though you looked like your pussy stank).

Big wins at the Tony's & Raquel still shits....

Denzel Washington and Viola Davis win big at the Tony Awards last night held at Radio City Music Hall in New York. Both won best actor/actress for their portrayal as husband and wife in the Broadway revival, Fences“My mother always says, man gives the award, God gives the reward. I guess I got both tonight,” said Washington as he accepted his first Tony. At 55, I have to hand it to Denzella, I live for the fact that he remains consummate in the craft of acting. I also live for Ms. Viola who I think is the new Angela Bassett (where is that overacting cunt these days) as she boo-hooed through her acceptance speech. Fela! (my favorite Broadway production) won big too as it snatched up awards for Best Costume Design of a Musical, Best Sound Design of a Musical and Best Choreography. As Bill T. Jones, choreographer of Fela!, ran his nearly 60-year-old chiseled shape to accept his award, he thanked his 'lovah' who was sitting pooched up in a "Gandhi gown". I especially got life off of Grand Bitch Raquel Welch who is still letting the young girls have it! Beyowulf only wishes that she looks that good at 70 (that pussy may be 65, i dunno), as Miss Welch fiercely fumbled through her awards presentation. However, although Miss Bitch's head moved, her hair didn't.
Overall it was a good night, although I wish the Tony's blessed Fela! with awards in acting, all in all it was a good watch. Newly outed queen Sean Hayes (gasp) was a hoot too as she gimmicked her way through the ceremony as hostess.

Fantasia's return with "Back To Me"

Clearly in reference to what she says is a "return to soul singing" Fantasia readies her return to the music scene with "Back To Me" which hits stores July 27th. The album boasts contributions from Carlos "Los Da Mystro" McKinney and Rico Love, Chris "Tricky" Stewart, Novel, Jim Jonsin and Claude Kelly, Cee-Lo, John Legend, and Missy Elliot. Here's the track listing:
1. I’m Doin’ Me
2. Bittersweet
3. Man of the House
4. Who’s Been Lovin’ You
5. Collard Greens & Cornbread
6. Teach Me
7. Move On Me
8. Trust Him
9. The Thrill Is Gone (Ft. Cee-Lo)
10. Falling In Love Tonight
11. Even Angels
12. I’m Here (From The Color Purple Musical)

I'm personally excited for Fannie's return. I was a bit worried from the soft reception of the once official single "Even Angels" but it's replacement "Bittersweet" definitely is more in the vein of Fantasia's soulful stomping grounds. Also "I'm Here" from The Color Purple Musical and  "Move on Me" previewed on her reality show, "Fantasia For Real", are tracks I look forward to hearing as well. Having used to turning on the radio and it being saturated with mundane uninspiring "singers" and lyrical content, it is refreshing to see Ms. Barrino back on the block singing from her gut while rocking her signature sweaty asymmetrical bang piece. Oh, just to hear her raspy yelp of "Here We Go!" one more time as she always does before a song will send tingles down my spine.

In case you haven't heard Fantasia's first single, "Bittersweet" here's a live performance from American Idol.

Are you all ready for Fantasia's return?

Janet on the set of new movie | Mariah's replacement.

So I know you all have heard that Janet along with an all-star cast of Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Macy Gray, Kerry Washington, Mariah Carey is filming "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf". How do you all feel about her look for the movie? When I first saw this, I thought for the first time, the ageless siren actually looked closer to her age. I'm not sure how I feel about the Claire Huxtable box cut but it'll be interesting to see this one. It has been reported that emaciated actress, Thandie Newton (who could fool someone as Zoe Saldana's older sister) will replace Ms. Mariah as rumors swirl that her old hips finally got knocked up. I have to admit though, I would have been more interested to see Nick's babysitter as she had done a commendable job in her role in Precious. The film will be based on Ntozake Shange's 1975 play. That title is a bit long and much though don't you think?

If you ever get a chance to go to New York, this is a must see production. The music, the dancing, the live atmosphere. It is a religious experience.

Hava-Seat's New Theme Song!

It's official, we have a new theme song....

Whitney: No Voice & A Fatty?!?

So not only is my girl Whitney faltering when it comes to her vocals, she now is a shape shifter! Is this a Whitney doppleganger? What is going on? And you would think the weight gain would help them vocals cuz you know the stereotype, "That fat bitch can blow!" But it seems it has skipped over Ms. Queen-of-the-Rasp. Come on Nippy, if you can't give us vocals, at least give us shape. You are really loosing it Ms. Thing. Heading the Aretha-ville are we? And to think, you said that "I will never be fat!". LIES! HAVA-SEAT!

Ms. Usher-Raymond is really serving in this performance of OMG

I'm not mad at Usher at all for this. It's nice to see a performer actually sing live and give you a show with some hot choreography. No tea, no shade on this at all.

Style Spotlight: I Can Dig It! - Cameo "Lucky" Evisu

Whether it's Bar Louie, Magnolias, Complex. or Applebees on a Tuesday for that two for $20, you can't help but immediately notice the style of Mr. Cameo "Lucky" Evisu. In a sea of over-sized tees and sagging skinny jeans, Lucky gives you a style that is reminiscent of Harlem Renaissance hey-day. "I describe my style as the Thee C's: clean, classic, and chic." Inspired by America's favorite designer, Ralph Lauren, the twenty-year-old definitely keeps sophistication in his stride. From a classic fitted dress shirt to his spiffy and shiny loafers that always seems to complete the look, there is no doubt that Lucky knows how to navigate his closet. He confesses that most of his shopping is done at H&M, Urban Outfitters, Blues/Sole, Iam Boutique, Macy's, Dillards, J-Crew, and Nordstroms which reveals a recipe for an urban gentlemen. Hailing from the fierce house of Evisu, Lucky masters his category of Butchqueen European Runway within the ball scene as he remains the bitch to beat. For now, he has his sights set on returning to Howard University where he plans to major in Public Relations with a minor in fashion and eventually own a PR firm.

Boondocks... do they go 2 far?

With the excessive use of "nigga" and ignorance displayed, does Boondocks go 2 far to you? I mean really, I can appreciate the social consciousness of it but at what cost? Black people aren't the only ones watching this. How does this paint the picture of what the African-American experience is like? I'm not saying that at times, Aaron McGruder (creator of Boondocks) is not on to something. I think the that the tomfoolery that happens in Black culture needs to be exposed. But is there no boundary in this plight? What do you think?

Jillie from Philly/Maxwell Concert....the review.

So as some of you may know, I punched it to Ms. Scottrade Center to see my girl Jill and Max give me my life in their joint tour stop here in St. Louis. I must say that overall, it was pretty cool. Although, I wasn't blown away like I was when I saw my Lady-Ms.-Gaga-If-You're-Nasty. To be honest, Jill was the one I really wanted to see since I didn't get a chance to when she made her rounds in 07-08 for her "Real Thing" album. I like Maxwell and I thought the Blacksummer's Night album was cool and all, but I don't get my L to the I-F-E on Ms. Maxwell. Opening up the concert was comedian Guy Torry (brother of actor/comedienne *yes -comedienne* Joe Torry). Now to me it was a bit weird because this is no late azz, tired-drove-let me tell a couple of jokes until my career revives-comedy show, it's Jill and Max! They coulda got Melonie Fiona and her yac to come sing some of her selections that nobody knows besides that "It Kills Me..." song. But at least it woulda been better than Guy and his tired lineup of sex jokes. Hava-Seat Guy! C'mon, how late can you be? It just wasn't cohesive with the funk that was about to transpire.
No more than fifteen minutes later, Jill hit the stage in what seemed to be a sequined blouse and stretch pants. I personally liked the bright sparkled top but my aunt said, "Why she come out there with that winter shirt on?" (hater). Her stage set featured the band, 3 male backup singers decked in all black and Clark Kent glasses referred as "The Pipes" (love that name :-) ), and two see-through boxes that featured some booty shaking dancers that again seemed to be an ill fit. She opened up with "Gimmie" and went through all of her major hits. I'm glad she sung my favorites from the last album, but I wouldn't have mind if she had done "Slowly, Surely" one of my favorites from her first live album, "Experience" (not necessarily the studio album version). She also treated us to a few of her new songs from the upcoming (I-don't-know-when-that-shit-gonna-come-out) album. Now, I featured both of these tracks. One song, which I didn't catch the name of, reflected her appreciation for old-school hip-hop because it definitely had that lyrical swag and retro vibe to it. The other song was a ballad of sorts that she had performed at the last NAACP awards. I believe it was called "The Call". I really liked this joint because it featured a raw emotion that Jill works so effortlessly. Her acting skills were really showcased here as she began to tear up and her voice began to shake, like a contrived Beyonce on "Flaws and All". But of course, my tired azz still got my life. More hits like "The Way", "Hate On Me" followed as the show ended on the energetic/inspiring "Golden". I did enjoy Jill's set, she definitely left me desiring more.
Once the stage was set for Maxwell, I knew that he was definitely ready to light a match of excitement for the crowd. His set featured big screens displaying art and animations to highlight feeling and emotion of each song rendered. It definitely seemed that his staging was on a grander scale than Jill's, although I heard that it was toned down from his last concert tour stop here in St. Louis. Considering that I'm not the biggest Maxwell fan, I was surprised at his engaging stage presence. I suppose that I was still stuck on what I heard was a debacle on his tour stop a couple of years ago with Alicia Keys at The Fox. It was said that Alicia upstaged him, having dropped his microphone and not being the performer as expectation had him to be. But he put all of those concerns to rest as he had the audience on their feet during his whole set. Having jumped on platforms, smelling panties thrown on the stage (which I think he already had his own supply of), and interacting with the crowd, Maxwell proved himself to be a seasoned entertainer. The way he moved and choreographed his body and the microphone, reminded one of Usher. Who thought that the guy I once knew as the meek and mild neo-soul singer with this woolly mammoth hair would be such a commander of the stage! In no particular order he featured "Somethin, Somethin", "Cold", "Bad Habits", "Woman's Worth", "Til The Cops Come Knockin", and his last hit "Pretty Wings". Overall I give this concert a B+ and a "Yes, Gurah!".

Watch Rihanna lez it up in her new video, "Te Amo".

Ms. Fenty makes a cute lil bulldagger. I know some box shaped girls that would have her, lol. What ya'll think? Is this another desperate attempt for attention or is this an artistic venture?

Did this old cunt really try to come for President Obama? HavA-Seat! (wait she did...)

Local Artist Spotlight: Darren Nesbitt - Iamme Collective

Local designer, Darren Nesbitt, who also owns the media company Made Monarchs, has just upped the ante with his new clothing line, Iamme Atelier. Known for its innovative graphic tees that features homage to our hometown of St. Louis, he has now ventured into making clothing for women. The dresses were featured at "Life In Plastic" 2010 Summer Collection Preview at Soldier's Memorial in downtown St. Louis. The garments reflected a very fashion forward and sleek design. From a novice fashion eye, I wouldn't have guessed it was made by a local. I was very impressed with how each  look was so workable and wearable without looking mall-bought. But he doesn't stop there. He also puts on events with his company, Made Monarchs. Coming up on June 18th, is the Made Monarchs Prom. "I wanted to put on something nice," he says. "Something that we can come out to where we can dress up and not have to wear tennis shoes and T-shirts." The event will be held at Art Dimensions on 2720 Cherokee in south St. Louis. Please check out Made Monarchs @ their website - www.mademonarchs.com and Darren's Iaame Collective clothing line at IammeColletive.com, there you can order merchandise!

Is it me or was Janet a little lazy on Idol tonight?

Janet was prancing around back and forth like Rihanna. C'mon Ms. Jackson, you know better! That arthritis must be kicking in. And she coulda left out "Nothing" and gave me a full greatest hits medley! I still love you boo-boo!

When the National Anthem goes wrong... gotta love Maya Rudolph
